The application developed for Terramar had its first rollout at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in January 2013. Deployed on three Samsung SUR40 with Microsoft® Pixelsense™ tables, the application serves double duty, streamlining the sales process from the customer side as well as internally. The entire Terramar inventory is stored within the app, with each unique item corresponding to a Microsoft® tag. Dropping an item tag onto the table brings up a 3D image of the product, its specifications, and pricing. Sales staff and customers are saved as users on the table with unique codes, and product orders and information are seamlessly transferred within the internal departments to facilitate a quick and easy ordering process. Purchasing history is stored with each customer’s ID to ensure even faster sales for the next time.
The next phase of the Terramar app will be deployed on a much larger scale, using Windows® 8 tablets in addition to the Pixelsense™ tables.
